Following the success of our "Be Your Own Bodyguard" Course at the Natural Health Hub, we have opened a Ketsugo Self Defence and Martial Arts club in Lymington. Our classes are for ladies only (although ladies may bring a male partner on certain evenings by invitation) and are held every Monday night at St Thomas Church Hall, behind St Thomas Church at the top of Lymington High Street. The class runs from 8pm until 9pm every Monday.
New members are very welcome.
Cost: Your first session is free. Thereafter, the cost is £10 per session or you can set up a direct debit for the reduced amount of £27 per month. Reductions are available for serving police officers (please enquire).
We teach a combination of the following:
- Simple Self Defence
- Personal Safety and Safeguarding
- Ketsugo Martial Art - a street-optimised combination of Aikido, Krav Maga, Wing Chun, Taijutsu, the Police officer safety training system - and techniques selected from other styles
Our objectives are to empower you by making you better able to make safe judgements about your personal safety and by helping you become capable of neutralising any threats to your personal safety should the need arise. Our philosophy is "Be Your Own Bodyguard!" and that is exactly what we want to help you achieve.
We cater for ladies of all ages and physical ability. Youth and fitness are obviously advantages for the physical aspects of our training, but they are not necessary and we aim to make you safer and more careful regardless of your age. Our chief instructor has even taught an elderly lady on walking sticks how to defend herself! Whatever advantages or challenges you have, it is our objective to help you make the most of them and increase your personal safety.
If you would like to be sent updates about the New Forest Ladies Self Defence and Martial Arts Club, please join our mailing list below and we will contact you to let you know our plans for launch as they unfold. We can't wait to meet you! We love what we do and are very much looking forward to sharing it with you.
If you have any questions or would like more information, please feel free to call us on 01590 624731Otherwise, just come along one Monday evening and see if you like it! You don't have to attend every week, although it is better if you do for the sake of your training and development. The more often you train, the better you will get. But any training is better than no training and we understand that people have busy lives.
